Terms of Use
Effective date: July 14, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of LightWord-Bible Verses Widget (“LightWord”) and its related widgets, content, subscription features, and services (collectively, the “Service”) provided by WAGA LLC (“WAGA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Apple license terms
LightWord is licensed, not sold. Your license to use the app is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple Standard EULA”), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA for the features and services provided by WAGA. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA regarding your license to the app, the Apple Standard EULA controls.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you can legally enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not directed to children under 13.
3. The Service
LightWord provides Bible verses, Home Screen widgets, content preferences, visual customization, favorites, reminders, sharing tools, and related devotional features. Some functionality may require an internet connection, a compatible Apple device, a supported version of iOS, or an active subscription.
We may improve, update, add, limit, or discontinue features. We will not remove paid access during an active subscription period in a manner that violates applicable law or Apple’s requirements.
4. Devotional and informational purpose
The Service is intended for personal devotional, educational, and general informational purposes. It does not provide professional pastoral counseling, medical care, mental health treatment, crisis support, legal advice, or other professional services.
If you are experiencing an emergency or believe you may harm yourself or another person, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service immediately. Do not rely on LightWord for emergency assistance.
5. Bible text and other content
Bible translations, excerpts, citations, images, fonts, and other materials may be owned by WAGA, in the public domain, or licensed from third parties. Translation names, copyright notices, and attribution requirements will be displayed in the app or accompanying notices where applicable.
You may use the Service and its built-in sharing features for personal, noncommercial purposes. Except where applicable law, a public-domain designation, or a separate license permits otherwise, you may not reproduce, scrape, republish, sell, create a competing database from, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the Service or its content.
WAGA does not guarantee that every translation, paraphrase, topic label, or editorial line will be suitable for every denomination or interpretive tradition. Scripture references should be reviewed in their full context.
6. Free features and Premium
LightWord may offer free features and paid features under “LightWord Premium.” The specific features included in each tier are shown in the app and may change for future purchases. Changes will not reduce the benefits already owed to you during a paid subscription period.
7. Auto-renewable subscriptions
LightWord Premium may be offered through weekly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions.
- The purchase screen displays the subscription name, duration, full price, included benefits, and any trial terms before you confirm a purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same duration unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
- Apple charges the renewal to your Apple Account according to the price and terms displayed by Apple.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription from your Apple Account subscription settings.
- If a free trial is offered, the trial length and the amount charged after the trial will be displayed before purchase. Unless canceled before the trial ends, it converts to the selected paid subscription.
- Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription.
- You can use the Restore Purchases control in the app to restore an eligible purchase on a compatible device using the same Apple Account.
Prices may differ by country, currency, tax, or future pricing changes. The localized price and terms displayed on Apple’s purchase confirmation screen at the time of purchase control your transaction.
8. Cancellations and refunds
WAGA cannot directly cancel an Apple subscription or issue an App Store refund. You may manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings and submit refund requests through Apple at https://reportaproblem.apple.com/. Refund eligibility is determined by Apple and applicable law.
9. Notifications and device permissions
Features such as reminders or custom backgrounds may require device permissions. Permissions are optional. You can change them in iOS Settings, although disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any law or third-party right;
- interfere with, disrupt, damage, or overload the Service;
- bypass subscription, security, or access controls;
- reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use automated means to scrape or extract the content library;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with WAGA; or
- use the Service to threaten, harass, exploit, or harm another person.
11. Ownership
The Service, including its software, design, branding, original editorial material, and arrangement of content, is owned by WAGA or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except the limited right to use the Service under these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA.
“LightWord,” associated artwork, and WAGA branding may not be used in a way that suggests sponsorship or endorsement without our written permission.
12. Third-party services
The Service relies on Apple services, including the App Store, StoreKit, iOS notifications, widgets, and device settings. Your use of Apple services is governed by Apple’s terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Service. It is available from within the app and through the Privacy Policy link provided with the App Store listing, and is incorporated into these Terms.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the Service, create security or legal risk, or if we discontinue the Service. Termination does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; you must cancel through your Apple Account settings.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions, will survive.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” WAGA disclaims all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, and noninfringement.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, the availability of a particular verse or visual style, or that the Service will meet every spiritual, denominational, or personal need. Nothing in these Terms limits non-waivable consumer rights.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WAGA and its members, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or use, arising from or related to the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WAGA’s total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to WAGA through the App Store for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Any dispute must be brought before a court with lawful jurisdiction over the parties and the dispute.
Before filing a claim, you and WAGA agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute by contacting the other party. You may contact us at [email protected].
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, law, or business practices. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
19. Apple as third-party beneficiary
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept these Terms, Apple has the right to enforce the applicable provisions against you as a third-party beneficiary.
